01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, do the same job. They let a site remember that you are signed in and keep the connection secure.
02What we use
BenchScout uses only strictly necessary cookies. They are essential to the Service, so they do not need consent under most privacy laws and cannot be switched off in our systems.
| Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Keeping you signed in and refreshing your session securely | BenchScout (via Supabase authentication) | Session, refreshed while you are active |
| Completing OAuth sign-in if you choose Google | BenchScout and Google | Short-lived, during sign-in |
| Fraud prevention and secure checkout when you subscribe | Stripe | Set only on checkout pages; see Stripe's notice |
03What we do not use
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking or third-party marketing pixels. If that changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first where the law requires.
04Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the necessary ones you will not be able to sign in. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information more broadly.
